A fixated cell is a cell that cannot be moved or deleted by the automation engine.
Generally, the automation engine is free to manipulate the timetable as it needs
(of course, providing it does not cause conflicts and while trying to maintain the
constraints you entered). However, there may be a situation in which you need to
pre-schedule certain activities and lock their position. For this purpose exists
the Fixate function, which allows you to tell the program which activities
must remain in-place and should not be "touched".
How to Fixate a Scheduled Activity?
- Select the cell which you want to fixate.
- To fixate: choose Fixate from the Edit menu.
To unfixate: choose Unfixate from the Edit menu.
A fixated cell appears with a small lock sign in its right bottom corner.
Automatic Mode
In the Automatic Mode of timetable construction the program analyzes the timetable
to find all unsolved problems in it, and shows them in a list. The process of automatic
timetabling is the process of solving all these problems.
